Zoom

Zoom enables people to meet via a video call. It works with PCs, Apple Macs, iPads, other tablets, iPhones and other smart phones. The only requirement is that the device has a microphone, camera, speaker and screen. It can be used for meetings and for family and other gatherings.

Meetings are organised by a Host, who invites Participants to join a meeting by email or message. The basic version of Zoom limits meetings to 40 minutes. However Northwood and District u3a can set up longer meetings. If you want to use Zoom for your interest group then please make your request using the Contacts page.

The London Region of u3as have produced three useful shared practice guides.

It is good practice – and sometimes crucial – that your Zoom app is up to date.
