MEMBERSHIP FEES
Our membership year runs from 1 November to 31 October and the subscription fee for those joining on or after 1 May 2026 is £30 per person. The full membership fee for the 2025/2026 year is £45 per person.
We have a reduced subscription fee of £18 for the 2025/2026 membership year that is potentially available to anybody receiving a means-tested benefit. If this could apply to you then please contact our Membership Secretary.
Our membership fee includes a £4.00 contribution to our national organisation The Third Age Trust. The trust provides a number of services and resources to all u3as in the country including a quarterly magazine and liability insurance cover.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF MEMBERSHIP
All members must:
- Abide by the Aims and Guiding Principles of the u3a movement.
- Always act in the best interests of the u3a and never do anything to bring the u3a into disrepute.
- Abide by the terms and conditions of the constitution.
- Treat fellow members with respect and courtesy at all times.
- Comply with and support the decisions of the elected committee.
- Advise the membership secretary of any change in your personal details.
- Not be in full time gainful employment.
GIFT AID DECLARATION
Northwood & District u3a is a charity no. 1144907. If you are a UK taxpayer, you can now increase the value of your Northwood & District u3a membership fee by clicking YES to Gift Aid on the following joining form. Only the fee of the individual who has agreed to Gift Aid qualifies for tax relief. Couples, who are both UK taxpayers, must each complete a joining form and agree to Gift Aid.
By clicking YES to the Gift Aid question you agree to the following statements:
- I wish Northwood & District u3a to treat as Gift Aid the membership fee that I have paid for the current year and any membership fees I will pay in the future.
- I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year then it is my responsibility to pay the difference.
Please notify the Membership Secretary of Northwood & District u3a:
- If you change your name and/or address.
- If you wish to cancel this declaration if your circumstances change and you cease to be a UK tax payer
If you are a higher rate tax payer, you can claim further tax relief on your Self Assessment (SA100) tax return.
PRIVACY STATEMENT
Your personal details will be held securely and used solely for the purposes of administration and the communication of u3a matters. They will never be supplied to an outside agency or party other than for you to receive the u3a Matters magazines by post or as otherwise required by law.
